This poll finds the best result for the Conservatives and the Union in over a year, whilst the other Holyrood parties suffer and fringe parties seemingly surge – though Alba slips beneath the waves.

A slightly better result for the Lib Dems compared to other agencies, whilst the Conservatives fall back. An SNP majority is on a knife-edge, as is the evenly-split Independence question, and Alba languish on 3%.

In the third of our polls from the same period, we have the first projection showing the SNP short of a majority since January last year. Support for the Union continues to rebound, as do the Conservatives, who’ve went from an all-term low to better than 2016 figures in just two months.

ComRes firmly claim the crown for the most prolific Scottish pollster, with this one finding a Conservative bounceback into second and the first projected loss in seats for the Lib Dems since 2017.

ComRes continue to show strong SNP and Green support, whilst the worst poll for the Conservatives since 2016 put Labour in second – a placing immediately overshadowed by Richard Leonard’s resignation.

For the last (?) poll of the year, we see the currently usual AMS-busting SNP success, combined with joint highest figures for the Greens and Independence.

A second poll from our newest (hopefully regular) agency has the SNP on a knife-edge majority, Labour continuing a modest polling recovery, and the strongest Green result in well over a year.

Following last week’s YouGov poll, we’ve had a new kid on the block in the form of Savanta ComRes. Although ComRes aren’t a new pollster overall, they are new to Scottish polling.
