A surprising slide for Labour may have the SNP breathing a sigh of relief, but one poll does not a trend make, so stay tuned for further evidence.
YouGov
Poll Analysis: YouGov 3rd – 8th of August 2023
A mild recovery for the SNP will be a welcome breather for that party, suggesting they could easily continue their current government with the Greens. Labour nonetheless have one of their best performances in years, coming largely at the expense of a slump for the Conservatives.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 17th – 20th of April 2023
YouGov join Survation in going against trend with a projected SNP-Green majority, but only just. Meanwhile, a significant plurality of voters think Nicola Sturgeon should be suspended from the SNP whilst investigations into party finances are ongoing.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 9th – 13th of March 2023
YouGov buck some recent trends by showing a marginally improved position for the SNP versus their last poll, and a comfortable majority for their government with the Greens, who also hit a record Westminster figure. Labour nonetheless continue to poll well, whilst the Union has a solid lead on the constitutional question.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 17th – 20th of February 2023
A third poll following Sturgeon’s surprise resignation contains good tidings for the Pro-Union side of the constitutional divide, whilst still suggesting the re-election of the SNP-Green government despite a narrowing vote.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 23rd – 26th of January 2023
First non-Survation poll of the year shows a snapping back to a Pro-Union lead, YouGov-worsts this term for SNP and Greens, best Labour seat projection since election, and improbably strong Alba and Reform UK figures that make the hypothetical projections quite distinct.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 6th – 9th of December 2022
A fourth poll in a row gives Independence a slender advantage, alongside a projected SNP majority and the worst Holyrood poll of the term so far for the Conservatives.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 30th of September – 4th of October 2022
One of a trio of polls that all appeared at once, this shows the strongest figures for the SNP and weakest for the Conservatives, suggesting a Holyrood majority for the former and complete Westminster wipeout for the latter. Meanwhile, Scots continue to make the constitution dull as dishwater.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 18th – 23rd of May 2022
Slightly delayed coverage of a poll that continues to show positive figures for the SNP-Green government, whilst Labour cement their current second place against struggling Conservatives. The unsettled constitutional question begins to look more settled this time, with figures fitting to the 2014 status quo.
Poll Analysis: YouGov 18th – 22nd of November 2021
YouGov’s first post-election poll has bad news for the Conservatives but happier tidings for the Greens and Lib Dems, alongside some very interesting findings on a multi question constitutional referendum.
